Close-out guide

Review site work before equipment and materials leave

A short, documented close-out walk helps separate incomplete scope, final adjustments, maintenance, and work assigned to another provider.

Compare the site to the written scope

Walk each work area and confirm excavation limits, grade, drainage path, material placement, hauling, access restoration, and cleanup.

Check water movement when practical

Review inlets, outlets, swales, downspout connections, pipe ends, and visible low areas. Some drainage performance can only be evaluated during suitable weather.

Record surfaces and protected areas

Photograph driveways, lawns, structures, utilities, fences, landscaping, and staging areas that were included in protection or restoration responsibilities.

Separate adjustments from maintenance

Identify immediate corrections, owner maintenance, settling or weather monitoring, manufacturer issues, and work outside ROE’s written scope.

Keep warranty information together

Save the signed scope, change orders, completion photos, product documents, and warranty contact information. Waterproofing, water-damage repair, and deck workmanship terms follow the approved ROE warranty record.

Use this guide with your estimate request

Send each concern with its exact location, a wide photo, a close photo, and the expected result. That makes warranty or close-out review faster and clearer.
